Christine O'Donnell: Italian Incendiary

Previously, I noted that Christine O'Donnell engaged in feminist activities in the past, and refuses to renounce her previous actions. Now, we learn that she picked Christianity as her faith by Italian intricacies:

Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell says she tried "every other kind of religion," including witchcraft and Buddhism but became a Christian because of her love of Italian food.

"I would have become a Hare Krishna, but I didn't want to become a vegetarian," O'Donnell said in an interview with Bill Maher in 1999. "And that is honestly the reason why, because I'm Italian and I love meatballs."

The reason to become a Christian is because it is the One And Only Truth, not because the Bhagavad Gita prevents you from setting a cow on fire and proceeding to devour the charred remains. Professing a love for Italy is also suspicious; after all, the blood relative of Janet Napolitano, that Communist Giorgio Napolitano, currently presides as President of their depraved nation.

The depravity of the nation of Italy extends into the very roots of their cheesy and stringy culture, ranging from anti-Christian bigotry from strumpets such as Sabina Guzzanti* to harlotry and lasciviousness from their singers such as Anna Tatangelo. Their abandonment of supporting America in the War on Terror is also to be highly condemned. Despite Wikipedia's liberal bias, I must link to this article which shows that Italy was the primary supplier of WMDs for Saddam Hussein. Need I even mention Mussolini and his atheistic doings? (His former supporters, to this day, still claim that Mussolini's concentration camps were great places to be.) Need I even mention that it was an Italian government which executed Jesus Christ?

Clearly, Italy is not a model country, and not a model for "Christ"ine to convert to Christianity. Indeed, her love for the country which killed Jesus and several of His kinsmen is a not-so-subtle pretext for what she intends to do to Christianity if she is given a chance. A President Mike Pence should haul this Wiccan idolatress out into the stockades, and encourage the public to pelt her with hard meatballs. The meatballs will only be the first bits of fire and brimstone she will face.

*While I don't care about the Pope being insulted, I am offended at her insults; they are used in a context which mocks Christian teachings about Hellfire and sodomy, and should be refudiated by all good Christians.

Happy Easter Open Thread

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter day.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the history surrounding Easter due to the many secular doctrines incorporated into it - Today marks the day when Jesus Christ rose from the grave victorious over death. Through His death on the cross, we have the power to put to death our sins; through His burial, we can bury our sins; through His resurrection, we are resurrected with Him also through baptism, symbolic of being washed in His blood. If we believe in Him, have faith and obey.

How timely as well, when the earth on this side of the planet is warming with the advent of spring, and new life is coming to the landscape in the form of daffodils, tulips, and various cultivated/uncultivated flowers and trees.

We are truly blessed through God's grace and mercy.

God bless you, and thanks for reading today!

Merry Christmas!

With all the secularization and atheist propaganda now surrounding the Christmas season, let us turn now to the true reason for Christmas.

Unto You A Savior Is Born!

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
Luke 2:1-14

Of course, He could have chosen the finest of palaces to be born, yet He chose the lowliest of places, out in the cold with the animals in one of the feed boxes or troughs that the animals eat from, called a manger.

So, as you wake up on Christmas morning with warm carpet under your feet, next to the Christmas tree, don't forget to give thanks to the One who gave all...from His incarnation all the way to the Cross where He shed His precious blood for all mankind on that day, Jesus Christ Our Lord.

May God's richest blessings be upon you as we celebrate the birth of our Savior this day!

Just What Kind of Man Was He?

"Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth. In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth." (Acts 8:32-33)

Wise Saying Worth Heeding Part III

"Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live." John 3:25

Happy Easter!

Resurrection Morning

John 20:1-30

Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him." So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus' head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciples went back to their homes. But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him." Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away." Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher). Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my GOd and your God. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"--and that he had said these things to her. On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld."

Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe." Eight day later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed (The clearest and simplest confession of the deity of Christ in the Bible, by Thomas: "Lord" with the Greek translation of the Old Testament for the divine name "Yahweh"), and God, are used together and addressed to Jesus in recognition of His glory. Jesus accepts it without worship or hesitation)."

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.'

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

That is the essence of faith, by hearing the message, applying it to our hearts and living by every word that proceeds from the Lord's throne!

Isaiah 53:3-5

'He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.'

Faith in the name of the only One by whom we may be Saved, the One who paid the ultimate sacrifice, with His life and arose on the Third day ... sitting now at the Right Hand of the Father, interceding on behalf of those who will trust and believe!

God bless you and have a wonderful Easter!

Merry Christmas!

On this day, that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, according to the gospel of Luke.

Luke 2:1-20

"In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there ere shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Often times we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of preparing for this day so much - getting a tree w/decorations on it up, or we might be worried about getting that special last minute gift item for someone dear to us, or sending out a Christmas card to each of our family members ... all of these material things that we lose sight of the real and true meaning of Christmas. And this is mostly due to the fact of how our culture has been changed slowly ever since the sixties and even long before the sixties ... During the eighteen-hundreds it would have been against the law for the simple fact that it is a material symbol, symbolism of the world that distracts us away from the true meaning of Christmas, that of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; who came into the world to save a lost and dying world. More than ever, people need Him now!

Many also use the story of Jesus without looking into it, and understanding the whole
picture - the difficulties that were present, and the many dangers that Joseph and Mary were in; the very long journey of 70 miles from Nazareth to the Judean village of Bethlehem. There was political turmoil. Herod, like a dictator, was trying to dominate the whole country.

So many many people start things that really were never specified within the Scriptures - like, that Mary rode a "donkey" on her journey. I have searched the gospels and can find no where where it says that a donkey was used for the journey.

We also many times miss the true nature of Christ in all of this day, due to the distraction of all material things that has surrounded this special day - and the truth is ... that Jesus could have chosen to be born in the finest of mansions there within in Bethlehem, yet, He chose the lowliest of places, in a stable with animals, in the cold air of the night. And do you know why He chose to be born in a lowly place? It was that He did not care more of Himself, because it didn't matter to Him, He wasn't suiting Himself, but the will of His heavenly Father who reigns. He came not just to serve His heavenly Father; but to serve others.

That is the truth, and profound significance of this day - that it's our duty to be Christ-like, devoting our time and service to others as Jesus Christ did, and not ourselves.

My, what a world it would be, if we did not have the kind of example and saving grace, and humility that our Lord and Savior came to provide us with!

May God richly bless you all ... and may you always remember that - Jesus, indeed, is the reason for the season!! 'Because He lives, we can face tomorrow!'

Merry Christmas!

Pardon Me ...

Our meeting today is not altogether by chance. Although we have not had time to become well acquainted, may I share with you something most wonderful?

Some time ago I met a remarkable Person, so great and outstanding that it has become a joy to introduce Him to others. The great tragdy is that so many know about Him, but so few know Him personally. Perhaps you have already guessed that I am speaking of Jesus Christ.

To some He is little more than a word of blasphemy, and to others a source of embarrassment, but to those who know HIm, He is wonderful!

You recall that the Apostle Paul persecuted the early Christians, but after he met Jesus, his life was transformed. He wrote,

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acception, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief." 1 Timothy 1:15

It hurts our pride to admit that we are sinners, but it is wonderful when we experience the power of Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and heal our hearts.

When once we accept Him as our Savior, we make an amazing discovery. Jesus did not come to make us stuffy saints or miserable mortals, but He came to give us LIFE-the very fullest and richest. Listen to Jesus' own words:

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

He speaks to you today. Do you personally know Him? Repent of your sins, believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for them, and make Him the Lord of your life. Read the following Scripture carefully. Then believe it and act upon it:

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

If you want to know more of this wonderful Savior, get a copy of the Gospel of John and read it. Talk to a committed Christian; go to a church where the good news of salvation is clearly explained.

All things are planned by God-also your receiving this message. Do not harden yourself against His call. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open your mind and heart to let Jesus in. It will be going from death to life. Jesus said,

"He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24

God bless!

He Is Risen!

On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him." Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again to their own homes. But Mary stood outside by the tomb weepiing, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'" Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

He was mocked and scourged, and a crown of thorns placed on His head. Bearing His cross, with all the remaining strength left in His body took on Himself the sins of every man from beginning to end. This is how much God loved each and every person on earth, despite their mocking hatred of Him, as He willingly gave His life that all might repent and have new and everlasting life. Thus, the battle has already been won on your behalf through the death and Resurrection of Christ, all you have to do, is ask Jesus to come into your heart and life, and have faith that 'He is able!'
Happy Easter!

God bless each and all, on this Easter Sunday 2008!

Merry Christmas!

Christ the Savior of mankind

Luke 1:26-45

In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end."

"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.

"For nothing is impossible with God." "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed:

"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"

Jesus is born!

War on Christmas: Who Won?

In the past couple years, the War on Christmas has been a big topic in major news media. The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes, and other prime-time talk show hosts have all had something to say about the dilemma. But now it seems that heated discussion of the War on Christmas has fallen into the backdrop of the scheme of things, and is virtually non-existent in discussions today.

But I think one big question still stands about the whole thing... Who won the War on Christmas?

A brief outline of what this war was and is all about: The War on Christmas was basically whether or not major corporations would include the words "Merry Christmas" in their T.V. advertising and billboards. Merry Christmas had become unacceptable in the eyes of many Democratic Congress People, as they felt it was an infringement on the 'Seperation of Church and State' ammendment. Nativity Scenes, words Merry Christmas, and any reference to Jesus Christ were all considered taboo and were most promptly banned, and most corporations fell into suit as they were afraid of law suits and the like.

Bill O'Reilly was an active campaigner to bring the words Merry Christmas and Nativity Scenes back into public light. O'Reilly stressed the importance of the reason for the season, and his voice and his viewers made a huge impact just a year ago. Major corporations brought back Merry Christmas into their commercials and bill boards, and Nativity Scenes were not so taboo anymore. Why? For one, many businesses were experiencing new lows in their Holiday sales due to the backlash of their ill chosen choices. Two, many people began to speak out about wanting to see Nativity Scenes brought back to the public squares. It seemed as if the War on Christmas truly was won ...

But the sad part is that it seems we are back to square one.

Today, in commercials, you don't hear Merry Christmas. Every Wal-Mart commercial I've seen, tries to further a specific product or brand, and does not mention Christmas at all. Lowe's isnt saying Merry Christmas, the same for Sam's Club, Sears, and the list goes on.

What happened? It seems that everyone is trying to straddle fences and cater to the masses, once again we see the real reason for the season being tossed aside and not given a second notice. We have fallen into complacency, and put the money as first place... What a dangerous complacency that is. This isn't a battle we can afford to lose.

It looks as if the War on Christmas has erupted again, but there is a silence among the people against it. You never hear the news media talking about it much anymore, you don't hear of people speaking out, wanting Merry Christmas to be said.

So today, to any and all readers of Conservatives United, I urge you even at this late date to speak out and say something to the major corporations. Write letters, make phone calls, speak out to the major suppliers that it's not all about the superficial products that we buy that makes Christmas, but it's our Risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

The one who came as a baby in swaddling clothes, and was born in the lowliest of places. The one that came and bore the weight of the world, and bled, suffered, and died on a tree to take the weight of our sins to give us a chance at Eternal Life. The Ultimate display of human love, the Ultimate reason for Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone. I pray the Lord will bless you this Christmas, and you can enjoy a time to forget the fast pace of life and spend a few moments of contemplation of the greatest gifts we have this time of year, family, friends, and most of all a Risen Saviour. And please, never forget that He is the reason for the season.

-Lucas-
