Seperation of Church and State...Really?

Washington -
Presidential candidates of both parties have talked more openly about their religious beliefs this year than in elections past, lifting a window on some of the values that could shape their decisions in the Oval Office. But the political benefits of such candor are not always clear in a country where most Republicans and Democrats believe in separation of church and state.

I disagree for three reasons...

1. How are we supposed to lead this Nation without Laws of Morality?

This was one of the great failings of the Israelites. They lifted themselves up and started to put more emphasis on the self instead of the Creator. Thus, they put gods in place of the One True Creator. As we read in the book of Jeremiah...

Jeremiah 32:30-35

"The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but provoke me with what their hands have made, declares the Lord. From the day it was built until now, this city has so aroused my anger and wrath that I must remove it from my sight. The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil they have done--they, their kings, and officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem. They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline. They set up their abominable idols in the house that bears My Name and defiled it. They built high places in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech, though I never commanded, nor did it enter My mind, that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin."

So, as you can see, the State is not to be placed as first place, but God. This includes all Nations, including America! Hence, the State is not God.

2. Who are we to say that there is a "Seperation of Church and State"?

In fact, God strictly forbids a "Seperation of Church and State", as was noted in the book of Jeremiah, but also in the book of Romans...

Romans 13:1

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

In essence, it means that if God isn't made first place, and the laws accordingly, then we are succeptable to being over-taken by men of sinful and wicked nature...Thus, our governance is solely at the mercy of the Creator...but, was there really ever a "Seperation of Church and State"? No! As anyone who has ever read the Constitutional First Amendment...It states 'Freedom Of religion', as many want to conflagurate, and use the word "from" in place of it.

3. What are the political benefits of a country based on Christian values system?

Simple, you have a better, more civil society! Instead of division, you have unity. Crime is reduced, thus, you have less crime to contend with. Doubt is replaced with Faith!

So, the line isn't being crossed until we start rejecting God, and placing State as substitute. As we've read in the book of Jeremiah, we see what happens when the people do.

Your thoughts...

  1. 2. Who are we to say that there is a "Seperation of Church and State"?

The 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Establishment and free Exercise Clause of the 1st Amendment and Thomas Jefferson say that there is a separation between the Church and the State.

    3. What are the political benefits of a country based on Christian values system?

Simple, you have a better, more civil society!

Another reason why you Jesus Freaks drive me crazy: you guys think that you have the final say on the true religion.
