New School Prayer -- Politically Correct

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Kind of telling isn't it? And while the scenario spelled out here in plain English has been played out since 1963 it's beginning to show in American life, and society in general. If you vote someone into office, or look at the record of someone that is appointed a position of authority to high office by our President, if you look at their origin of birth, and where they went to school you can pretty well tell what they're being taught ... take Van Jones for example, he was raised in public school here in America and you can see him for what his is, a communist. So that pretty well tells you what our higher institutions of learning are feeding into the minds of our young people today, and it really does not bode well for our future as a free and prosperous nation. Of course, it's probably too late to say anything about it at this point, as we've gone so far down this hopeless road.

Nevertheless, Kudos to the person who wrote this poem, who is trying like many others are to shed some light on the state of our country due to the rhetoric being taught in our schools, and the restrictions that have also been put into place that hinder our true need in Jesus Christ.

God bless, and thank you for reading!

  1. What is wrong with studying totem poles? They are an important part of Native American art and culture.

There's nothing wrong with it. It just should be taught as a good example type of idol worship, and that we aren't supposed to do the same, because we aren't to worship the creation rather than the Creator, which Scripture states in Romans 1:20.

  3. Really, however, it should not be taught at all because it is something that Satan uses to lure as away from our true need in Jesus Christ. And especially as this relates to our children, it would be such a shame to lead them into a life toward hell, when they could be shown the way to everlasting life.

  4. So the spiritual beliefs of Native American tribes are Satanic? Does this mean that every deceased Native American is burning in hell?

  5. RE: So the spiritual beliefs of Native American tribes are Satanic? Does this mean that every deceased Native American is burning in hell?

No, I wouldn't necessarily go so far as to make a broad general statement regarding "all" of the Native Americans to that effect. Because, again, Romans 1:20 states: "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

And from a basis in the main Scriptural quote of Jesus Himself in John 14:6 - Jesus says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

That means we can't go through a "totem pole," tree, cow, rock, or as simple as our television. These things have all been used to some degree or another to try and reach God, which is entirely impossible. The only way is through Jesus.

So, I would say, going back to that passage by the Apostle Paul, in the ending part of that declaration we read that it is through nature alone that we can see God's power, and seeing that this is true, I think it's safe to say that there were without a doubt a few Natives who could see this truth.

Not to change the subject, or go off-topic, but since you mentioned the Natives, that takes me back to when my Dad first introduced me to the art of hunting with a bow and arrow, in that same hollow in the woodlands where I first started hunting, Dad and I spring of water that we dug out to make a pool of water...and further down as the water made its way through the course of the hollow we looked down one day and there was an arrow-head made of the flint-rock that the Natives used to make their arrowheads with, and we began to rake back the stones with our hands and there were several more arrowheads that we found ... and the reason they were close to the stream of water, is that they used the water to drip on the small pieces of stone after they had heated them over a fire and the flint-rock would chip away with the fast-cooling treatment of the water-chipping method that they used, shaping the stones to form the arrowheads. And how amazing it was the sharpness of the arrowheads after they had finished them. I though to myself, how amazing that I was hunting the old stomping grounds of Native Americans.

    Fascinating.

  6. How would the Native Americans have known of Jesus before the European settlers arrived? All Native Americans who died before European colonization would be condemned to hell according to your theology. They didn't know Jesus.

  7. RE: How would the Native Americans have known of Jesus before the European settlers arrived?

    A little obtuse ... no?

Back to Romans 1:20 - This time, read closely - "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,"

Now to the book of John chapter 1 verses 1-5 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."

Now what does that say? It says that the beauty, and complex intricacy of God's Creation bears witness to Christ. When God spoke to the world in the life of Jesus Christ, he spoke the same Word that he had spoken when he created the world. The Word of God spoken long before in creation, and through the prophets, was the same Word as appeared in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. This is a rather lengthy subject of discussion, but it's not hard to see how Jesus Christ would appear to those whom nobody ever witnessed to. We don't need a verbal witness to Christ's authority and Supremacy in life, however, once we have acknowledged him, and have faith in Him to proclaim that faith and witness to others. Take a recent scientific study for example, the discovery of laminin - the buildings of every cell in our body and that hold us together, confirmation in itself of God's nature ... every one of these is shaped in the form of the Cross that Jesus Christ died upon to buy our pardon. Christ holds all things together with His power ... Colossians 1:16-18 - For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and by for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence (Supremacy)."

All Native Americans who died before European colonization would be condemned to hell according to your theology. They didn't know Jesus.

No, they didn't know him in a personal way, but neither did Moses, or Abraham, or Isaac, or Jacob, or King David, or Isaiah, but they all knew God's truth, and I am confident that many of the Natives did too.

Many of those Natives who took to worshiping their false idols, such as the Aztecs, well, many of them had a knowledge of the true God, and their beliefs were solidified upon the Europeans witness.

    Will discuss more later...

  8. So a person who reveres the beauty of nature and it's laws gets into heaven via a loophole? In that case there is no reason to subscribe directly to Christianity.

This puts you in a sticky situation. Where do all the atheists with good morals and a reverence toward nature end up? They're being nice and they respect what you consider "creation". Would they go to hell for not knowing Jesus personally? Why them and not good people of non-christian religions?

  9. RE: So a person who reveres the beauty of nature and it's laws gets into heaven via a loophole?

Not quite! If it were that simple, then nobody would see the kingdom.

There is a natural order in everything since the beginning of the Creation. It's through this natural order, and through our endowment with a spirit that we are able to ascertain the nature and existence of our Creator, the God of Creation. Ok, it's only when we acknowledge Him and give credit to Him that we ultimately gain His approval, and therefore, are welcomed into heaven.

I'll get to the second part of your question in a in a bit...

  10. Where do all the atheists with good morals and a reverence toward nature end up?

Well, in basically the same position as those who worship "totem" poles, trees, water, the moon, the stars, rocks, metals such as gold and silver, etc. Good morals and a reverence for nature are voided in combination with unbelief...why? Because unbelief is arrogance before Almighty God and defiance of His authority. We still have a choice, but God will not be robbed of the honor and obedience that He and He alone is due.

They're being nice and they respect what you consider "creation".

It's really not a question of being nice or respecting God's Creation, some people go too far and worship the Creation...but it's a question of ... do we respect God our Creator? When we respect and be nice to Him, obeying Him and His commandments, then the rest will fall in into place just the way its supposed to.

Would they go to hell for not knowing Jesus personally?

Now that Jesus has come, they have access to the Father through Him. There is no longer the sacrifice of goat's blood, or sheep's blood to atone for our sins...Jesus came once to die for all, for the sins of the entire world, He placed it upon His back and carried it to the grave rising victoriously over death, hell, and the grave for all. Now all they must do is believe and be saved.

God Bless, and thank you for commenting!
