A leftist judge strikes again.
So what is the most important thing we need to understand regarding this ruling?
Let us take a biblical approach.
We must understand that God's Word states that homosexuality like all sin, is the transgression of God's law, and those who indulge in it are walking in darkness. We can gather from the book of Galatians what sin is.
Galatians 5:19-21 - "The acts of sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and withccraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God."
And on into verses 22 - 26 it states the fruits of the Spirit, which are - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Take particular notice of where it says in verse 23 where it says, "against such things there is no law". Now it's clear, that what it's saying, is that how we walk in life is proof or example, through our actions that tells the world whether we are walking according to the Spirit, or according to the desires of the flesh, and those things that are according to the Spirit, are, as it says-love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Of which? There is no law against! Because they are according to the law. So, this shows us, in essence, what the purpose of the law is. The purpose of which, is to punish those things which are against the law.
We must ask the question now - was the judge's ruling in accordance to the law, or in defiance of the law? And the answer is - he is in defiance of the law, because he is not ruling according to the law. What were those things again, which the law was made for? Let us turn now to the book of 1 Timothy 1:8-10 - "We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
So, we know that the judge is using the law badly, because he's ruling in favor of the child being returned to the one who indulges in perversion.
This case is a prime example of what happens when sin enters the picture, from sexual immorality then resulted impurity and debauchery, to idolatry, to hatred, to discord, to jealousy, to fits of rage, to selfish ambition, to dissensions, to factions and envy. It results in more and progressive decay in the family unit when sin is allowed to form into tolerating actions born of sin in the civil law; and this is ultimately how the destruction of civilization as a whole gets started, by redefining the family unit, and by using the law improperly such as this judge has just did.
