"A person should not be elected because of his faith, nor should he be rejected because of his faith"
Essentially, what Mr. Romney is saying, is that religious beliefs should have no affect in determining how one should lead this country in a Presidential position.
Whether it be leadership by Atheists, by Buddhists, or by Muslims. In reality, that would be akin to saying that, "God has no place in government." and that, "People really don't need to believe in God, to make a change." Which is in complete contradicition to the Founding documents of this Nation.
It would be a grave mistake to assume the people shouldn't decide who they want for their Leader by going merely on their consciences without the divine guidance of the Creator, in choosing someone who would lead not by his own moral principles, but by the One who Willed our very existence into being.
So many people will look at a candidate and say, "Well, I don't care what so and so stands for on the life issues, just as long as he takes care of my bank account I'm ok"...
And that, my friend, is where people make the tragic mistake of putting the interests of themselves first, and forgetting about the command of Almighty God to put Him first, and all the other needs would follow.
It's the Liberal Democrats Individualist mindset that has nearly destroyed this Nation, folks. It has even worked its way into the hearts of many believers, and turned them astray. Creating a diverse and Culturally Ill society.
In my honest opinion, we can't trust someone who would question the role of God in how he should lead, because we would be going against the One in control.
All I can say is, if you (America) want to put a Democrat in office? God help this country, cause this Nation is going to cry out, begging, for someone to help.
