Can McCain Seal The Deal?

As I was coming driving home today I was listening to the radio on a gospel station and a news break came as I was about half away home saying that Mitt Romney was stepping aside, Mr. Romney said, and I quote, "due to this time of war, and with a democratic majority, we would get attacked, so I must step aside, for the interest of my country, and my party." Well, if Mitt were concerned for his country, and his party, he wouldn't have quit, he would press on to the finish line. He also said this, "This has never been about me, and it's not about me." No! Mitt, it's not about you, it IS about America! Oh well, I digress, it only shows what his interests truly were from the start - from his pocket (in gobs I might add); and in lip service. Too, the bulk of his messages were in the form of attack ads on his opponents. If he would have spent less time attacking, and spent less money, and proved to the American people that he was sincere in what he believed, and what he would do for America from the heart, then he would have fared much better, I firmly believe. Whether he realizes it or not, Mr. Romney just gave the nomination to his rival, about 3/4s Liberal, John McCain.

Another unfortunate reality of all this, is the fact that - money talks (Nowadays anyway), when it's helping the individual whom is looking for the subsidiary affect that it brings, but if your going to win hearts and minds, it's better to leave the money-changing on idle.

As one might imagine, this must have been quite a relief for John McCain, but he got mixed reactions in today's CPAC conference, he received cheers for his war strategies, and booes on his immigration reform record. This proves that Mr. McCain has a long way to go in order to prove to Conservatives that he will adhere to 'True Conservative principles.' In the long run, the trust that Mr. McCain instills voters with, will be the ultimate deciding factor in how the country moves forward toward a more Civil Union, should he become our next President. I think also, if he's not going to drill here, to become more energy independent, then I don' think he will fare good at all with the Conservative side, and this is one of the fundamental differences in he and his current rival, Mike Huckabee, Mike Hucakbee's agenda specifically includes becoming energy independent, and discontinue the funding of Saudi energy regimes. The Rule of Justice will also be a major issue bearing down on the next administrations shoulders, in this case, John McCain would be a tremendous help to the Nation.

McCain supports the following principles regarding crime:
Broaden use of the death penalty
Impose stricter penalties for violent felons
Increase spending to build more federal prisons
Impose “truth in sentencing” for violent criminals so they serve full sentences
Support programs to provide prison inmates with vocational and job-related skills and job-placement assistance when released.
Support programs to provide prison inmates with drug and alcohol addiction treatment.

I agree with him on all of what he supports, except the third one, I don't agree that we should increase spending for more federal prisons, we have enough prisons, and have spent too much on them already. If he will madate the death penalty, then spaces will be made to allow more prisoners until their sentencing. In that area, we will have a man who will not stand for criminal behavior, and for that, I am thankful, and applaude Senator McCain. However, he HAS to come out a clear defender of Life in the womb, because Murder is the same for unborn children as it is for adults. There's no difference. Abortion is largely due to one underlying factor -Leeching off of our government and the American taxpayers. Which is another major problem that needs fixing in this country. Cut back on entitlement programs, and you can literally cut spending in half. To do this would be adhering to 'True Conservative' principles.

Infrastucture is another large spending area. I've been all over the country in the last few years, and the bridges, buildings, and roadways are the finest you can have. Why? It's because our State representatives keep forking the dollars over to support their names. We must encourag our Senators to be less anxious in throwing good money away.

So, my fellow Conservatives, can McCain appeal, and seal the deal? Ooooor, maybe it would be better said, will he make an effort to appeal to us? Still further, would his appeal come through true, as it would translate if he in fact, becomes POTUS?
