Pro-life group rejects Senate compromise on abortion (OneNewsNow.com)

While the Senate Democratic leadership and the White House may be celebrating Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson's decision to vote for the health reform bill, the National Right to Life Committee says it will continue to fight for greater restrictions on federal funding for abortions.

Nelson has been a problem for his fellow Democrats in recent days because of his stated desire to ensure the bill would not allow federal dollars to pay for abortions.

The Senate Democrats needed 60 votes to get their bill passed and have been working hard to achieve their goal before Christmas.

Indeed, it would be hard to stand under such pressure. It's unfortunate, however, that Sen. Nelson would compromise a core-belief that is inherent to a healthy mind, that says life deserves respect because it has intrinsic worth at the very moment of conception. It's just a heinous crime to think otherwise.

Even more abominable to think of forcing people who don't wish to support abortion through their tax dollars. This healthcare bill, however, will do just that, it will be an extortionist bill. What is extortion? It is the illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage. 3. An excessive or exorbitant charge. This bill is against the law-our very own Consitution, it is illegal. Yet, here we have one of our very own leaders who knew right and wrong all along, and yet he compromised and went against the only conscience God gave him, and went against it. I'll just say, I'm glad that I'm not Senator Nelson's judge, or any of the others judge who voted for this bill-that will reign in communism, and bring us into the worst depression this country has seen since the Great Depression. Much worse than the Great Depression. As Scripture states, "You reap, what you sow." So, it will not be hard to understand why there is so much mayhem and suffering when the effects of this bill are finally realized.

There is still hope, but we must do as Scripture states and humble ourselves before Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and earth, the One who founded this Nation, and made it into the greatest country the world over.
