The Joys of Winter

I've been an avid bird enthusiast and watcher for several years, going on 20 years, perhaps. They always fascinated me while I watched them on hot summer days when I poured bird seed out on the driveway and the English or House Sparrows would come by the hundreds. If something spooked them, it sounded as if there was an explosion of sorts, it was almost scary. They're just little birds, but with their collective wings, they could really make a roar. Then on into the winter months a whole variety of birds would come to the feeders...anywhere from the voracious Blue Jay, which were the ones that intrigued me the most...these Blue Jays will take their seed on a tree branch and crack it by putting the seed (sunflower, btw) in between their feet and pounding on it with their beaks until the shell broke and they could get to the kernel inside, I was often amazed as I watched them swoop in so gracefully on snowy day just before a storm arrived. Then there are the little black-capped chickadees and tufted titmouses, they flit in and out just fast enough to grab a seed and take it to a safe location away from any house cats that may be lurking underneath the bushes nearby.

Today, I looked out the window and saw this beautiful Northern Cardinal along with his mate, these birds supposedly mate for life if I'm not mistaken, much the same as the Bald Eagles do. Here is what I saw...

(Editor's Note: It is really cold out at the time of this photo, notice how the Cardinal has its feathers all puffed out in the breast area.)

Pretty, isn't he? These birds have the most beautiful song, what cheer, what cheer, cheer, cheer, cheer ... well, that's about the best I can describe it to you. You would just have to hear it to appreciate it.

It appears that the birds are going to be around the feeders for a while; there is a tremendous snow pack in place, and more snow is on the way. I also took some pictures of the icicles hanging from the roof over our back-porch...

Oh where, Oh where is our "global warming," the birds might sing...or maybe they have better sense than Al Gore and go south for the winter where they always have for thousands upon thousands of years, since the beginning of time. However, biologically speaking, that would only apply to the insect-eating birds, and birds that thrive on fruits and berries, which are plentiful in the southern United States and South America. There is also the hummingbirds which travel north during mid-spring to raise a brood or two of young and then go back south, these birds thrive on nectar-rich tubular flowers that most bees have a hard time reaching or find detestable, or just aren't abundant enough to produce a store of honey. Hummingbirds have long, sleek needle like beaks with a long tongue that they use for extracting and feeding on the nectar from flowers. These teeny-tiny birds expend a tremendous amount of energy flitting from flower to flower, burning energy as they consume it. So they eat to live and live to eat. Amazing! God is an awesome God!
Then there are the seed-eating birds, which were made for the colder regions, and the birds that withstand the harsh winters of these regions.

God bless you all. Bundle up and keep warm!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I woke up this morning, and this is what I saw...

Snow - small white crystals of frozen water formed directly from the water vapor of the air when the temperatures at the lower levels of the atmosphere are at or below the freezing mark of 32 degrees Fahrenheit, or 0 degrees celsius.

I looked out this morning and the trees and ground are covered in a thick layer of fluffy, wet snow. Remembering back now at how pretty and green everything was in the summer months, with garden and all now blanketed over. I guess all things must have a resting period. So, we'll have to be careful about hitting the roads this weekend.

Joe Bastardi with Accuweather is predicting we will have a colder and more snowy winter than usual here in the East. It appears that it's shaping up to be that way. Well, that's good, because the snow is good for the ground water supply, but we'll have to wait and see...we still have 3 months of winter to go.

I'm hoping that it will look like this on Christmas day this year. We haven't had snow for the past two or three years, the ground has been bare.

Oh yeah, and so much for "global warming," huh?

Update: As of noon eastern time, the snow is coming down pretty heavy, the wind is blowing and drifting the snow.

Women bear brunt of 'climate change'? (OneNewsNow.com)

A United Nations group that promotes abortion has released some controversial recommendations concerning "global warming."

According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), birth control and access to family-planning facilities can be a valuable weapon in the fight against supposed "climate change." The UNFPA sites overpopulation as one of the factors in the earth's "capacity to adjust" to climate change.

In an article published on GMANews.tv, a representative from the Philippines notes that climate change could affect women the worst, as women in that country might be driven into the sex trade as climate change reduces income from farming and fishing. The Fund uses this scenario to justify its call for the distribution of birth control and its call to slow population growth.

I found this entirely unsurprising, as the Left's ultimate goal is (not "seems" to be) to murder in the name of greed - Greed - excessive or blameworthy desire for food, money, or possessions. Now this might not be the same greed that you would suspect in the normal fashion as it is explained in the general description of greed. The ultimate force behind the greed that drives the Left-wing liberals, is a desire to simply usurp the authority of our Almighty Creator God. They want to set themselves up in a position to control everything so that it goes according to man's system, to set man up as the ultimate arbiter over life and death through the system of governance at the highest level, our government, and quite frankly, America is in a good position to be taken advantage of by this very dangerous way of thinking, they are vulnerable to be taken over by this communistic set of ideals that are being proposed through the power structure that is being put into place by our very own government. People have been taken advantage of through the socialistic programs that were enacted to supposedly "help" the poor, such as welfare for example, 47% of Americans are currently on some sort of government controlled program, that's nearly half the population, and with the number of jobless claims on a steady incline it appears very likely that that number will only increase as time passes...but for the most part, America isn't fairing too bad as it stands at the present, but it doesn't appear that it will stay that way. Overall, we are a wealthy country...the problem being, that Americans have neglected their true need in believing in, and giving credit to God the supplier of their needs, and I think that it's appropriate, since we have just passed Thanksgiving to key in on that note...what are Americans truly thankful for? As I see it, and I don't if you see it the same as well, but many Americans are only thankful for the accomplishments that they've made by confiding in themselves...so they really aren't thankful. It's this type of danger, this type of complacency that is ruining America, and putting America at a crossroads, and we are at that crossroads now. We have put ourselves in a predicament, and there is only one way out of it. To turn back to God for our blessings, and to turn the thanks to Him. God appreciates us when He sees that we recognize Him as our source of hope, and indeed, He is the only hope that we have.

In the meantime, we must pray that God would change the hearts of our leaders in Washington D.C., in order that they would not be murderous in their thinking!

God Bless You, and thank you for reading!

Alternative or No Alternative?

It's probably safe to say by now that most Americans are feeling the brunt of the fuel price increases, and are wondering...When, will it end? Many households have far distances to travel to get to their work places, and thus, extra fuel is required, and therefore, demand is on the high side, while supply is plentiful.

So, when will prices go down, so people can go back to work? Well, personally, I can't answer that question, but I can give what I think would be some worthy advice.

We'll start out with a question...Do we necessarily have to buy fuel from other countries? And the answer to that is...No, Absolutely not! There are vast mines of oil within our sight that we could begin to exploit and wean ourselves from foreign energy sources.
You know, it's pretty simple when we think about the ramifications of extending our energy needs so as to become energy independent, in a number of ways - Through the advance of technology we can use the resources that God has placed us with to become more easily accessible and cost-worthy too - such as? Such as Windmills, Nuclear energy, and coal-fired power plants through clean coal technology.

Easier said than done though, right? Well, yeah, but just think about how much easier it would make going to the store and getting groceries, going on vacations, going to work, etc, etc? From a whopping Four to five $s to paying a Buck Twenty-five a gallon gas would be a big sigh of relief, huh? You bet it would!

For now though, all we can do is dream of better days.

More questions - Is foreign oil dependence our only problem? It is part, but not all.

Let us now strike at the roots of the problem of energy dependence. One would think that our government could do something worth-while to help in our current crisis, seeing that they control what goes on. Ah! Therein lies the problem...when you enter politics, you just ask for trouble. We get a lot of promises rather than action, and more so from Democratic administrations than Republican. So why do they give promises and no actions? A few things - ignorance, fear, and…they are in search of something that will put them in the lime light. Mostly for fear and ignorance though. So does that make them to blame? No, I'm afraid not, if you want somebody to blame, look not further than to people like Al Gore, he's someone who we call a "Green Activist/Environmentalist." More appropriately labeled...a Scaremonger.

What are they afraid of? Well, we can't operate windmills in California because they are killing "tens of thousands" of Eagles, Hawks and Owls.

What? Good grief, I thought Hawks had really good eye-sight, spot a mouse underneath high grass a mile away. You mean to tell me they are crashing into these huge wind-mills? Gimme a break!

What else are they afraid of? Uh O! The earth is going to heat up and melt the North and South Poles, and sea levels will rise and drowned us all. WHOA! Sounds pretty major, eh? Sounds like a pretty major false scare-tactic to me.

When we mention Nuclear energy as an alternative, what do we hear? It goes something like this ... "Caution. Do not enter. This is a Radio-active waste area." And the claim is that those sites are uninhabitable for "millennia" That is non-sense, the key, is at what rate particles radiating from radioactive material strike the body. In low rates, they are virtually harmless. How do we know? Well, in winter, people experience what is know as cabin fever, in which time it is very cold and there is very little to no exposure to the sun. This radiation in the form of light energy, that we get from the Sun creates a reaction in the body that releases endorphines in the brain, and therefore, inducing us to happiness, and more energy to do things that we like to do--it releases a substance called "serotonin", I'm not sure about the name of it, but I think that's it. When this radiation decreases, then this body chemical/hormone begins to decrease, and we start to feel sluggish again.

As far as the amount of pollution output - Let's compare a thousand-megawatt coal-fired power plant with a nuclear plant of the same capacity:

Coal - Carbon dioxide: 7 million tons (Carbon Dioxide is the natural gas that plants breathe in, and in exchange, gives us oxygen - It is most commonly known as greenhouse gas).

Nuclear - Carbon dioxide: None

Coal - Sulfur Dioxide: 12,000 tons.

Nuclear - Sulfur Dioxide: None.

Coal - Nitrogen Oxide: 20,000 tons.

Nuclear - Nitrogen Oxide: None.

Coal - Solid Waste: 750,000 tons.

Nuclear - Solid Waste: None.

Which is cleaner? I'll let you decide...

As I said in an earlier paragraph, we can talk all we want, but until we stand up to the Green Activists and Environmentalists’. Nothing will ever get accomplished listening to their scaremongering as it never has until we stand and say, 'No more foreign oil, we're going to use what God has given us to use here, in America.' Unless we do this, America will continue to suffer at the hands of rich Arabian oil profiteers.

The alternative resources are there, all you have to do is put your mind to do something about it, and it'll happen.

God bless!

SQUIRMING ON GLOBAL WARMING

As Congress struggled to shape new energy legislation this week, an equally important fight was shaping up: whether the United States will begin to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions.

The prospects for such regulation began to emerge this past April when, in a setback for the Bush administration, the US Supreme Court affirmed that the Environmental Protection Agency had the legal authority to regulate emissions. The wrangling this week over the Senate energy bill represents the first skirmish over what could quickly become a full-blown battle over measures to slow climate change.

It's really interesting, sad actually, to see our elected officials doing a jig-saw dance over an absurd notion construed to be the "end of the world" by a lefty (Al Gore to be correct), whom thinks himself the "god-king of the earth's and universes future".

I just wonder if they've ever taken a moment (as in, if they would?), in amongst their squabbling to stop and think about their size in terms of reality, within this world and universe? I don't think they have ... and is only proof of how much the deceiving lies of Satan have worked their way into the hearts of the people, causing fear and anxiety for outlandishly foolish purposes. What a shame friends, our Founding Fathers wouldn't know what to think of our Leaders today, I'm sure there would be much laughter, but yet, much anger and tears at the enormous degeneration that Democrat Liberals have caused this Great Nation.

You see friends, there are still a few that understand the Greatness that America was, and what it could be like if it hadn't been for the disasterous minds of a few degenerates that caused this enormity of confusion within our society.

Make no mistake, friends, we've only touched the surface of the confusion that is to take place if a Democrat should gain our White House on November 11, 2008.

My take on this issue of a bill to "regulate greenhouse emissions", is that it is only more money-grubbing, power hungry greed to feed the political machine, it is SOCIALISM...Plain and simple. American taxpaying families will be working double-time for basically nothing, because all their expenditures will be for those who will lose jobs as a result of the decrease in the rate of production.

The point is, it's silly for the government to act as if they're taking the place of our Almighty Creator.

Well, the bible foretold of these kinds of things in the end times, God said He would send them strong delusion. The last days are here, folks! No doubt about it. Our government leaders are proof of that by themselves.

Don't be fooled, friends, "Global warming" is the LEAST of our worries.

God bless!
