Obama’s Quasi-Christianity - Unfruitfulness

When one listens to Barack Obama talk about his “faith”, that is one thing, but whenever you take a look at his record it is entirely another story … Obama espouses to supposedly be a “Christian”, and when questioned about Christianity or Jesus Christ being the only way to heaven, he retorts with – “Christianity is the only way for me”, and proclaims that there are “many pathways”. Evidently, Mr. Obama, when put up against the truth, in actuality, does not know Jesus Christ as his personal savior, or he would understand and know God’s Word regarding the only way to heaven. When we open God’s Word, Jesus tells us specifically reading from the book of John – John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life, No one comes to the Father except through me. “ Jesus then goes on to state in verse 7, “If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.”

What is Jesus saying? In essence, what He’s saying is that there is only one way to have salvation, and that’s through accepting His ultimate sacrifice on the Cross as forgiveness for our sins (you could call this “humanism” of sorts, as Christ came as the ultimate form of a human, with the greatest love for humanity…totally unlike today’s radical personal autonomy that humanists use to justify all kinds of societal decadence), and then, walking steadfast daily in accordance to how God’s Word says we should live, with every thought and action as fruit (works) of the Spirit that God has given us through the infilling of His Holy Spirit.

Some would call it “Spiritual relativism” which is used by secularists in this day and age to suggest an area of separation in order to lessen the perception of God’s awe-inspiring power in the lives of those who’ve accepted Christ as their personal Savior, and thus, are profoundly changed from within.

In truth, however, when we examine the secularists argument, and what we believe, we can notice the stark differences from an overview of the underlying realities of each – One is positive and one is negative. Just to illustrate this, I’ll give you an example – If I engage in a discussion with a secularist, and I say, “Islamists are wrong in the ideological thinking, because it condones murderous terrorism” They are likely going to shout back, “How do you know it’s wrong?” and then they’ll point back to a part of history and blaming Christians for something that was done similar in nature regardless of the circumstances, which, in most cases was done in self defense, and self-defense cannot be characterized as a “murder” but as Justice for wrongs committed. At this point, it comes down to “moral relativism” for the secularist, and they are willing to justify the acts committed by those who commit such acts attributing them to the culture of said individuals. Now, to expose the flaw in the secularists’ argument…to take two different ethnic groups and try to place them under the same scrutiny as justification for the same wrong committed doesn’t work, and will never work… this is why we have governments which create laws against such acts. The simple reason for this is, you have to go back to the beginning of history to find the first documentation law, and that would be found in Genesis … when Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, this is where morality first began, when God spoke to them regarding their sin against His Will this is when the law began henceforth … law is what brings about an acknowledgement of sin comes the separation of God’s love from us…and that’s what I want to discuss with you about Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is more in line with being a secular humanist, and this is what persuades me to have enormous doubts about his proclaiming to be a “Christian” … as noted earlier, when Christ comes into one’s life, a transformation takes place, and this always takes me back to Hebrews 10: 1-18 – “The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—I have come to do your will, O God.’” First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.”

“And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.” And what that means, is that once we acknowledge Jesus Christ, there is no room, or excuses, rather, to do, or advocate for those things that go against God’s Word … This is what brings into question, Barack Obama’s touting to be a Christian…if he has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, then how can he still be for murdering unborn children, or stand as an advocate for the forbidden act of homosexuality and extending preferential treatment to them, advancing these sinful choices? Shouldn’t he be encouraging these folks to give life to their children, and reproving the homosexual lifestyle? Shouldn’t he also be an advocate for Christian morals in school where we need them more than ever?

One would certainly hope so! However, from looking at Mr. Obama’s record we don’t find a very Christian attitude, past associations of murderous intent, and immoral choices that should lay to rest any doubts as to whether or not to vote for him. Mr. Obama seems impervious to the fact that he is not living a Christian life, yet, when measured by God’s Word he doesn’t pass the test…and this is something that if the American people decide to put him in office just six days from now will find out over the coming four years.

In ending…In the 26th verse of Hebrews 10 says this …
“If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”

That is the reality, folks, before Christ we were under the written law, after Christ we are under conviction which manifests the law…Do away with the law, and you do away with the consciousness of sin, which would lead to some horrible times…which would happen under Supreme Court Judges appointed by Barack Obama.

James 1:23-24 says this … “Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.”

When we do not live up to God’s standards set forth in His Word we cannot bear fruit that is good, only fruit that corrupts one’s self, and those whom we come in contact with!

Give your vote to John McCain and Sarah Palin, and the Lord will bless you and your family!

God bless!
